Australia Day Awards

Every year in Alice Springs on Australia Day we celebrate outstanding Centralians with the Australia Day Awards. The Alice Springs Town Council on this day also hold one of their Citizenship ceremonies to welcome new Australians. Here are a few photos from this years’ ceremony and awards.

NT Music School – forte!

The Northern Territory Music School is a unique NT Government School with more than 1150 students in years 5 to 12 enrolled in regular weekly music and performing arts curriculum programs, and many hundreds more involved in our annual calendar of combined schools performing arts events and activities throughout the Territory.

forte! showcased the talents of students from Alice Springs and regional NT at the Araluen Centre, Lisa Hatz Photography was there to capture behind-the-scenes and all the students performances on stage.

Corporate Dinner at The Old Quarry

The ACCA held their national conference in Alice Springs recently, with 3 days of events including this dinner under the stars at the stunning Tailormade Quarry in Alice Springs. If you’re looking for the perfect outdoor venue for your next conference or event in Alice Springs, The Quarry is one of our star locations!

I got the drone out for some aerial photos of the venue and a group shot, it’s the perfect location to use the drone as it really shows the scale and colours of the quarry walls and surrounding landscape. Definitely one of my favourite Alice Springs outdoor venues to photograph.

Territory Generation Aerial Images

Territory Generation hired my RPA (drone) services to photograph their Alice Springs facility. They wanted images of the facility that could be used across their in house material and annual report. The subject being industrial the challenge was to create interesting and eye catching images so I was sure to choose the right time of day – this is the result!

Red Centre NATS

The Red Centre Nats is a festival celebrating everything wheels! Over 3 days every year, street machines, elite show cars, hobby vehicles and more take over the streets of Alice Springs. Intense competition including drag racing, show ā€˜nā€™ shine and street cruising are just some of the events.

My brief was to capture the ‘people’ side of the event – the crowds, people enjoying the events from their point of view, food stalls, kids on shoulders, families and their set up’s. I captured a range of images over all 3 days at all of the events. I love community events like the Red Centre Nats and capturing people so really enjoyed working this event!

The feedback from the organisers was: “Lisa ā€“ your ability to capture crowd POV is second to none.”

Teaching the Territory Awards

The Teaching in the Territory Excellence Awards recognise the contribution of Northern Territory Government school teachers, principals, leaders and support staff to quality education and is held every year in Alice Springs at the Double Tree by Hilton.

Territory Day

Every year the Northern Territory Government put on free community events for Territory Day across the Territory. This year’s celebrations in Alice Springs included a fantastic entertainment line up beginning with a traditional smoking ceremony and welcome to country, followed by local acts Dave Crow Duo, Casii Williams and Wolfpack Amadeus.

The finale of course being the fireworks spectacular. Lisa Hatz Photography was there once again to capture the celebrations – here is just a small preview below!
